Occupy DC protesters evicted from McPherson Square

4th February

Washington, February 4th 2012 – At 5:30 am Saturday, District Park Police began a systematic eviction of the Occupy D.C. camp at McPherson Square at 15th and K Street NW.

Arriving on horseback and motorcycles, police encircled the camp and authorities with a riot squad immediately took control of the General McPherson Statue in the center of the park- which occupiers earlier in the week encased with a tarp to make a “mega tent” in opposition to Park Police enforcing the mandate of no sleeping in public parks.
